I have been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award. This award is special because it comes from other bloggers. To have my peers recognize me means the world to me. I have fallen in love with this blogger community. We may write about different subjects but we all take the time to lift each other up and support the others work. I have never once felt an ounce of competition, only love.

The One Who Nominated Me:
I owe this nomination to Shanice Palmer (Twitter handle @faithnturtles).Her blog is called Faith & Turtles and it is a beautiful blog. On Sunday’s she gives you a dose of motivation. On Thursdays she features motivated people.Lastly on Friday she gives you shopping. I highly recommend subscribing to her blog so that you don’t miss any of this good content. I signed up so that I wouldn’t miss it either.
How My Blog Started:
My blog is about my journey as a wife, mom and student all while having Fibromyalgia. Having a chronic pain condition is a challenge all in itself. Add a family and trying to finish my degree in psychology to that and it is almost impossible. I recently became so sick that I couldn’t work or goto school for a while and that is when my blog was born. This month my blog will be four months old.
My goal with my blog is to not only bring more awareness to invisible illnesses like Fibromyalgia but to also support others like me. I have often felt so alone and misunderstood and so who better to understand me than those that go through what I go through?
My Advice For New Bloggers
My first piece of advice for new bloggers is to not think too much about whether or not you should or shouldn’t. I’m not saying don’t plan your blog, especially if you are making a business out it. I’m saying, it doesn’t have to be perfect. A blog is apiece of art that is coming from you and art develops as it is being created. So, just create and see what happens.
My next piece of advice is don’t compare yourself to other bloggers. When I first started I felt very intimated by others in my niche. I thought, “Oh, no! So many have already written about what I was going to write about!” I was almost so discouraged that I quit. Then I reminded myself, that their post is THEIR story- not mine. Only I can tell my story. Since then my blog has been evolving and growing all the time. It is different and it is mine. I want others to love it, but the only really important part is that I love it.
